The first lesson in the “Rentals 2” series starts with the data model for a rental management application in the K2 ERP environment.
Model tenants, contracts and payments
We design entities for tenants, premises, contracts, services, meters, meter readings, charges, invoices and payments. The lesson considers how to connect these tables with foreign keys and reuse existing data rather than duplicate it.
The result of this stage is the structural foundation for a module. An ER diagram defines entities and relationships; completing a rental application also requires the relevant business rules, interface and testing.
K2 ERP is the business information system, and K2 Platform is the platform for developing and adapting its applications. See the official description of the ER model editor for context.
In K2 ERP, even table relationships are serious 😄
